Work

Ten years of enterprise systems. And what we're building now.

Almas is new. The engineering behind it is not. Below is the track record it was founded on, and the software we have built since — clearly separated, with nothing presented as client delivery that wasn't.

Engineering track record

Ten years building enterprise systems.

Prior professional roles. Not delivered by Almas.

Almas was founded on ten years of enterprise software engineering. That work was building and running production systems for established organisations, in permanent engineering roles rather than as Almas client delivery. Most of it was document management: large, long-lived systems where records have to be found, controlled and trusted. Alongside that came booking, legal, banking and risk platforms, all environments where software carries real operational and regulatory weight.

Document management systems

The core of the last decade. High-volume ingestion, classification and indexing, metadata and search, version control, permissions, retention and disposal, and audit trails across records that outlive the people who created them.

Banking & fintech

Transactional and financial systems where correctness is absolute: reconciliation, ledgers and balances, controlled processing, and complete auditability of every movement.

Risk management

Risk and control platforms: exposure and obligation tracking, rule-driven assessment, escalation, and reporting that has to stand up to internal and external scrutiny.

Legal systems

Matter, case and evidence workflows with strict process, deadline and record-keeping requirements, and tight control over who can see and change what.

Travel & hospitality booking

Booking and reservation systems handling availability, pricing and high transaction volume, with integrations into multiple third-party platforms.

What that means for your project

Built for systems that have to be right

Banking, risk and legal work sets the standard: correct data, auditable changes, and controlled access as defaults rather than additions.

Deep in documents and unstructured data

A decade of document systems means classification, extraction, retrieval and retention are familiar problems, not a new research area.

Comfortable with fragmented estates

Enterprise work is rarely greenfield. Most of it was integrating with systems already in place and keeping data consistent between them.

Senior engineering, directly

The person who scopes your work is the person who did that decade of building, and the person who writes your software.

Reference architectures we've built.

Built by Almas. Demonstration interfaces, not client systems.

Working systems we have engineered around the problems we spent a decade solving in production. Each one is a tested architecture we adapt to a client's actual requirements, rather than a starting point from a blank page.

Document management

Enterprise Document Repository & Extraction Engine

High-volume ingestion, classification and search across business documents, with permissions, retention and a complete audit trail.

The reference architecture behind the domain we know best. Documents arrive from multiple sources, are classified and indexed, have their key fields extracted and validated, and are held under explicit permission and retention rules. Low-confidence extractions are routed for review rather than accepted silently, and every action against a record is logged.

  • Multi-source ingestion with automatic classification
  • OCR, key-field extraction and confidence thresholds
  • Role-based permissions, versioning and retention policy
  • Full-text search and tamper-evident audit logging

Banking & fintech

Digital Banking & Transaction Verification Portal

Multi-account balances, payment approval queues and ledger reconciliation, built for environments where correctness is absolute.

A back-office banking architecture covering the path of a transaction end to end: balances aggregated across accounts and currencies, payments raised and passed through staged approval, movements reconciled against the ledger, and every state change recorded. Built around the controls that financial systems assume rather than add later.

  • Double-entry ledger integrity and reconciliation
  • Maker-checker approvals with value thresholds
  • Idempotent payment processing with safe retries
  • Complete transaction and event audit history

Web & systems integration

Travel & Hospitality Booking Engine

Live availability, dynamic rates and multi-channel synchronisation, built to hold up under concurrent demand.

A booking architecture handling the hard parts: inventory that cannot be sold twice, rates that change by date and demand, and third-party channels that must stay in step. Reservations move through a defined lifecycle from creation to completion, with modification, cancellation and payment handled as first-class states rather than exceptions.

  • High-concurrency inventory locking and availability
  • Date and demand-driven rate management
  • Two-way channel synchronisation with failure visibility
  • Full reservation lifecycle and resilient payment handling

Workflow automation

Legal Document Orchestration & Scheduled Dispatch

Documents prepared, queued and delivered on schedule against matter deadlines, with verifiable chain of custody.

Built around time-critical document movement: matters carry deadlines, documents are generated and queued by rule, dispatch happens on schedule or on trigger rather than by someone remembering, and delivery is acknowledged and recorded. Each document carries a hash and a custody log, so what was sent and when is provable.

  • Scheduled and event-triggered document dispatch
  • Matter-centric access control and deadline tracking
  • Escalating alerts on approaching and missed deadlines
  • Hash-based chain of custody and delivery confirmation

Risk monitoring dashboard showing exposure limit utilisation, breach alerts and remediation tasks

Business software & analytics

Risk & Exposure Monitoring System

Continuous monitoring of exposures against limits, with breach alerting and remediation tracked through to sign-off.

A monitoring architecture that replaces the periodic spreadsheet review. Exposures are aggregated continuously, measured against configured limits, and breaches raised the moment they occur with a severity that determines who hears about it. Remediation is tracked as work with owners and dates, and the reporting pack is generated from the same data rather than reassembled.

  • Continuous aggregation of operational and financial exposure
  • Configurable limits with tiered breach alerting
  • Remediation tracking from alert to sign-off
  • Audit-ready reporting generated from live data
